There will be a T-20 tournament among the teams who will play 11 matches in all, that will be held from the 28th January to 2 February at the PCA Stadium in Mohali and the Cricket Stadium in Sector 16 of Chandigarh. That's not all, there are perks for playing too. The winning team will be given a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and the runner up team Rs 2 lakh and the promising young players will be picked up for the KXIP team and also the Cricket Academy.
"Many times you hear people say 'He is a good cricketer, but couldn't make it because he didn't know anybody'. So this T-20 tournament is a platform for these types of players who have it in them. "It's a clean way of getting through. Who knows, the best ones might just make it to Team India someday," said Preity, who will be there to cheer the teams. "We have a good team of selectors who will choose the best, though I wish I had the quality to select players myself," said the busy bee who is right now playing in between the wickets - cricket and movies.
So what do you think of Preity Zinta providing opportunities for up and coming sportsmen? Give us your thoughts on her newest venture.
